OnePlus Ace 5: OnePlus has released two new members to the Ace 5 series in China — the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition. These phones are designed to entice performance-oriented users, particularly mobile gamers, with their superior processors, cooling technology, and large-capacity batteries. Their pricing also makes them suitable choices in the high-performance mid-range segment.

OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra Display and Design

The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra features a 6.83-inch flat 1.5K screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 1,400 nits peak brightness. It is HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HDR Vivid certified, and TÜV Rheinland Eye Protection 4.0 certified. In Breeze Blue, Burning Titanium, and Phantom Black colors, the phone blends aesthetics with an engaging visual experience.

OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition Display and Design

The Racing Edition boasts a slightly lower 6.77-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with an up to 120Hz refresh and 1,300 nits brightness. Though it forgoes some of the Ultra model’s display capabilities, it still delivers a crisp and vivid viewing experience. It is offered in Chasing Waves White, Rock Black, and Wild Green colours.

Performance and Software

OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra is fueled by a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC and operates on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. It features up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The Racing Edition features a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9400e SoC, the same software, and identical RAM and storage options up to 16GB and 512GB, respectively.

Camera Setup

The Ultra variant has a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary camera with OIS, along with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. The device also boasts a 16MP front shooter. The Racing Edition also packs a 50MP primary camera with OIS but comes with a 2MP monochrome sensor rather than an ultra-wide camera. It shares the same 16MP front camera as the Ultra.

Battery and Charging

The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra is equipped with a 6,700mAh battery and supports 100W fast charging. The Racing Edition is equipped with a smaller 7,100mAh battery and supports 80W wired charging. Both devices guarantee prolonged usage times and rapid power-ups.

Gaming and Cooling Technology

Both devices come with OnePlus’ Glacier Cooling technology. The Ultra model has a giant 7,300 sq mm VC unit and 4,000 sq mm back cover cooling area. There are dedicated Fengchi gaming chips and Lingxi touch chips (only in Ultra), along with G1 e-sports Wi-Fi chip for more fluid gaming. The Racing Edition inherits the same gaming chip and cooling.
