iPhone 17 Air: Another big surprise is ready for Apple fans, as the leaks of the iPhone 17 Air have already created a stir in the market. This phone is expected to be launched in September 2025. According to reports, Apple will host a special event in the next week, in which the iPhone 17 series will be unveiled. Let’s assume that the event will be held on 9 or 10 September, and pre-orders can start from 12 September. This phone can be found at retail stores till 19 September.

iPhone 17 Air design

Talking about the design, this phone is said to be Apple’s thinnest iPhone. Its thickness can be only 5.5mm, which is inspired by the sleek design of the iPad Pro 2024. As a material, this phone can use a combo of titanium and aluminum, which will make it light but strong. The phone is likely to weigh only 145 grams.

The camera design is also going to be quite different, because the phone is so thin, it will have only one rear camera. This will be a 48MP wide sensor, which will be set in a rectangular camera bump of a new design. Color options may include classic black, silver, light gold and a very light blue.

Features like MagSafe charging, Action Button and Camera Control Button can also be found in this phone. The USB-C port may be slightly off-center and the speaker grills will also appear redesigned.

iPhone 17 Air may have a 6.6-inch OLED display. According to some reports, it is actually 6.55-inch, but in marketing it will be told as 6.6-inch. The resolution is expected to be 2740×1260 pixels.

The biggest news is that the iPhone 17 Air can get a ProMotion display with 120Hz refresh rate. This will be the first time ProMotion will be given in a non-Pro iPhone. This will make scrolling and animations very smooth. The Dynamic Island feature will also remain, but its design can be smaller and sleeker. The overall display will come with very thin bezels.

Battery life remains the biggest question of this phone. Due to being so thin, fitting a big battery in the phone has become a challenge for Apple. According to leaks, the battery can be around 2800mAh. This is less than other iPhones, and reports say that only 60-70% of users will be able to take a day’s backup.

Apple is preparing to use new high-density silicon-anode battery tech and AI-based Adaptive Power Mode to fix this issue. These features can be seen in iOS 26. Along with this, Apple can also launch a special battery case, which users can use optionally.

iPhone 17 Air performance

There is not going to be any compromise in performance. iPhone 17 Air will use Apple’s latest A19 chip, which will be based on 3nm TSMC process. The phone is expected to have 8GB or 12GB RAM, which will give performance like flagship phones like iPhone 17 Pro.

The front camera is also going to be upgraded. All iPhone 17 models will have a new 24MP front camera, which will have a 6-element lens. Connectivity is also expected to get Apple’s C1 modem and Wi-Fi 7 support.

In the end, it would not be wrong to say that iPhone 17 Air can be a device with futuristic design and performance, which is specially designed for new generation users. But its battery backup can become a real challenge for Apple, the solution to which will be revealed only after the launch.

Talking about the price, leaks say that the price of iPhone 17 Air can start from $899 in the US. This phone is likely to be launched in India for around ₹ 90,000. This phone will be more expensive than the standard iPhone 17, but will be cheaper than the Pro models. Apple is trying to give this device a smart balance between mid-range and premium.
