AC Tips for Summer Season: February hasn’t even ended yet, and summer has arrived early. It’s already getting hot in the afternoons this month. If this continues, people will likely need to use their ACs soon. If you want to do the same, make sure to get these essential tasks done before turning on your AC before the season begins.
If you don’t, your air conditioner could develop some kind of malfunction, potentially incurring significant expenses. When you start your AC for the first time after winter, be sure to follow these tips.
Get it serviced
Before summer begins, be sure to get your AC serviced first. If hard service is delayed for some reason, perform soft service yourself. Hard service is performed by technicians using the necessary tools. While soft service involves cleaning the filter, a worn toothbrush, and water to clean the coils. If possible, be sure to clean the back of a window AC and the outdoor unit of a split AC with a strong stream of water.

Check the Condenser and Output Unit
If you have a split air conditioner in your home, you should definitely check its condenser and outdoor unit. The condenser is the mesh behind the outdoor unit, which can become clogged with dust and dirt due to prolonged use. Therefore, wash it with a strong stream of water.
Also, be sure to check at least 2-3 feet in front of or around the outdoor unit to ensure there is no obstruction. After turning on the AC, check if there is a loud rattling noise coming from the outdoor fan or compressor.
Check the Pipes
Prolonged AC shutdown can cause dirt to accumulate in the AC, leading to leakage. Therefore, check the drain pipe before turning on the split AC to ensure there is no problem.

Check the Stabilizer
Before turning on the AC, make sure the stabilizer is working properly. Also, check the AC plug for any loose wires or loose wires. Unscrewing the AC wires connected to the stabilizer and re-tightening them reduces the chance of any problems.
Initially Run on Fan Mode
When you first start the AC, keep it in fan mode. This will flush out any dirt that may be present. If there is any problem, it can be detected by turning it on in fan mode without the compressor, thus preventing damage to the compressor.
