Face Authentication Checklist: Every year, pensioners are required to generate a ‘Life Certificate’. In this digital age, this task can be completed from the comfort of one’s home, meaning pensioners do not need to travel anywhere. You can generate a digital life certificate from home, and the ‘face authentication’ method is essential. The UIDAI has issued a checklist outlining the ‘dos and don’ts’ to follow during the face authentication process.
What is the Aadhaar Face Authentication Checklist?
What you should do: When performing Aadhaar face authentication, ensure that your face is well-lit during the scanning process; do not attempt to scan in a dark environment. Keep your face steady, blink your eyes naturally, and ensure all information is entered correctly. A stable and high-speed internet connection is crucial to avoid any interruptions. Position your face within the green circle, and ensure that your Aadhaar number and biometric data are unlocked beforehand.
What you should avoid: –
Ensure that no one else appears in the frame while your face is being scanned. Do not hold the phone too far away or too close; your face must fit entirely within the green circle. Keep the phone straight—do not tilt it—and avoid taking photos from an awkward angle. The camera should be positioned directly in front of your face.
Apps and Platforms to Use
You can generate your digital life certificate using the ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ app, the ‘AadhaarFace’ app, or by visiting an India Post Payments Bank, a Common Service Centre (CSC), a bank branch, or any other authorised registration centre. This digital service has been introduced solely for the convenience of senior citizens, ensuring they do not face any difficulties in generating their life certificates.
If you—or anyone in your family—are in the process of generating a digital life certificate, please be careful not to click on any unknown or suspicious links. Fraudsters may attempt to deceive people by sending fake links under the pretext of generating a digital life certificate.
