EPFO Portal: Big relief for EPFO members. After long maintanance, The EPFO Portal resumed. The EPFO has successfully restored the majority of its online member services following the completion of its scheduled system migration and database integration tasks. PF account holders can now log into the EPFO Member Portal to manage UAN-related activities, profile updates, and other member services.
The Passbook Lite feature is now accessible on the Member Portal; however, the EPF Passbook portal is currently marked as “unavailable” as of 11:30 am on Friday (July 3). A notice on the Passbook website indicates that system upgrade work is still in progress. As a result, the Passbook service is temporarily suspended, even though other member and employer services have been restored.
The deadline for the technology upgrade was extended by 5 days.
The EPFO has embarked on a significant technology upgrade to enhance its claims-processing platform. Consequently, the downtime for online services was prolonged by about five days. Initially, the EPFO announced that maintenance would be completed by June 28th, with services resuming on June 29th. However, this timeline was adjusted, leading to an extension of the outage. Ultimately, it was confirmed that services would resume on July 3rd.
What was the reason for this system migration?
The main goal of this migration and database integration effort is to accelerate claim processing, enhance system reliability, and offer more secure digital services for EPF members and employers. While the primary online services are now back up and running, members who are eager to view or download their EPF passbooks may need to wait a bit longer until the passbook portal is fully operational.
New EPF Scheme 2026 implemented in the country.
The restoration of EPFO’s online services coincides with the recent notification from the Ministry of Labor and Employment regarding the new Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 2026, which replaces the long-standing EPF Scheme, 1952. This update is part of the implementation of the Social Security Code, 2020.
The new scheme, which came into effect on June 29, features several key changes, including changes to PF contribution rates and membership. It also introduces updated rules to promote digital compliance, improve governance, and simplify administration.
How to login to EPFO member portal?
First of all you have to open the official EPFO member portal.
Then you have to enter your Universal Account Number (UAN), which needs to be activated before logging in.
Now you have to enter the password linked to your UAN.
Then you have to fill the captcha code visible on the screen.
At last you have to click on Sign In.
How to reset EPFO member portal login password?
Now you have to open the Unified Portal or click on ‘Forgot Password’ on the login page.
You have to enter your UAN, name, date of birth, gender and registered mobile number.
Now you have to enter the captcha visible on the screen.
Now you have to select Get Authorization PIN.
You have to enter the OTP sent to your mobile.
You have to set a new password and confirm it.
