Why was the exam delayed? Learn the full controversy.
RRB issued an indicative notice on December 28, 2024, declaring that only candidates with ITI qualifications are eligible. But on January 2, 2025, the Railways changed the eligibility criteria to 10th pass or ITI. ITI candidates challenged this in court, arguing that eligibility cannot be changed once a notice is issued. The Railways argued that the December 28th notice was only indicative; the actual notification was issued on January 22, 2025. Last week, the court ruled in the Railways’ favour, providing significant relief to millions of candidates.
