RRB Group D 2025 Exam Update. Important news has arrived for candidates preparing for government jobs. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)’s largest recruitment exam in the country, RRB Group D 2025, is set to begin this month. According to information received from the board, this exam will be conducted from November 17, 2025, until the end of December. An important update for you is that a detailed schedule, exam centre, and admit card information will be released on the railway’s official website, rrbcdg.gov.in.

In fact, this recruitment will fill a total of 32,438 posts, and over 10 million applications have been received so far, making it the railway’s largest-ever exam. However, important news has emerged that a case related to the railway group’s D recruitment is currently pending in court, concerning the ITI and 10th-grade qualification criteria.

Expected Exam City and Admit Card Release Date

RRBs will release exam city and date details 10 days before the exam. Travel pass authorisation will also be provided for SC/ST candidates. Candidates’ admit cards will be available for download four days before the exam date.

Admit cards for candidates whose exam is scheduled for November 17th will likely be released on November 13th or 14th, 2025. Candidates can download the admit card and exam city intimation slip by visiting their regional RRB website.

Required Documents for the Exam

The Railway Recruitment Board has clarified that Aadhaar-linked biometric verification will be conducted at the exam centre. Therefore, it will be mandatory for candidates to bring their original Aadhaar card or a printout of their e-verified Aadhaar card.

Candidates who have not yet completed Aadhaar verification can verify their identity by logging in to rrbapply.gov.in. Also, those who have verified their Aadhaar during the application process should ensure that their Aadhaar is in the “Unlocked” state in the UIDAI system.

This Group D recruitment will fill positions across various departments in the Railways, including:

  • Assistant (Workshop, Bridge, Loco Shed, Carriage & Wagon)
  • Pointsman B
  • Track Maintainer-IV
  • Assistant Operation (Electrical)
  • Assistant TL & AC
  • Assistant S&T (Signal & Telecom)

RRB Group D CBT Exam Pattern 2025

The exam will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) with a duration of 90 minutes. A total of 100 questions will be asked—

Subject: Number of Questions

  • General Science 25
  • Mathematics 25
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning 30
  • General Awareness and Current Affairs 20

Candidates should note that there will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer in the exam. A normalisation system will be applied to all candidates. The number of candidates successful in the CBT, up to three times the total number of posts, will be called for a Physical Test (PET).

Physical Test and Selection Process

The selection process will consist of two stages:

  • CBT Exam
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Those who pass the PET will undergo document verification and a medical examination.

Requirements for Male Candidates

  • The 100-meter distance must be completed in 2 minutes with a weight of 35 kilograms.
  • The 1000-meter race must be completed in 4 minutes and 15 seconds.

Conditions for female candidates

  • The 100-meter run must be completed in 2 minutes with a weight of 20 kilograms.
  • The 1000-meter run must be completed in 5 minutes and 40 seconds.
