JNVST Class 6 Admission 2026 : Your child is studying in Class V, and you wish to place him or her in a good government school that provides free education and hostel facilities. This is the best opportunity for you. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has started its registration procedure for The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2026 to be held for accepting Class VI students into Navodaya Vidyalayas for the academic year 2026-27.

Online applications can be submitted through the specified portals: navodaya.gov.in or cbseitms.rcil.gov.in, and the last date set is 29 July 2025. So, do not forget to fill up the form before that date.

Eligibility for Application

Students studying in Class 5 in the session 2025-2026 in any recognized school are permitted to apply, and the student must be born between May 1, 2014, and July 31, 2016. The application has to be made through the district in which the child is presently studying in class 5. This will be a special highlight since 75% of the seats are set apart for rural children, thus paving a way of luck for such students to feel the benefits of world-class education.

A statement to be certified by parent, applicant verified against the headmaster/principal of school.

Exam Pattern

The selection test (JNVST) shall be held offline for 2 hours for a total of 100 questions:
Mental Ability 40 questions 50 marks
Arithmetic 20 questions 25 marks
Language 20 questions 25 marks
There shall not be negative marking, and the examination shall consist of Multiple Choice Questions.

The same Day will have two phases:
Phase 1 – 13 December 2025
Phase 2 – 11 April 2026
