New Delhi: If you appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE) examination, you can expect some good news very soon. IIT Guwahati is set to release the final answer key for the GATE examination shortly. While there is still some time before the results are officially declared, candidates can use the final answer key to evaluate their performance in the interim. By cross-referencing their responses with the answer key, candidates can check the correct answers and estimate their probable scores.
According to the official notification, the results for the GATE examination will be released on March 19. Candidates can easily check their examination results by visiting the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. This process is designed to be hassle-free for all candidates.

How to Download the Answer Key
The GATE 2026 answer key is expected to be released at any moment. Candidates will be able to easily cross-check their responses against their respective papers; there is no need to be anxious about this process.
To download the final answer key, candidates must first visit the official website: gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
Next, on the website’s homepage, click on the link labelled “GATE 2026 Final Answer Key.”
After clicking the link, you will need to select the specific subject you appeared for.
The final answer key PDF file will then appear on your screen.
Finally, it is highly recommended that you take a printout of the answer key for your records.
How Many Candidates Appeared for the Exam?
For your information, approximately 700,000 candidates from across the country appeared for the GATE examination. The examination results are scheduled to be released on March 19. IIT Guwahati will release the list of toppers on March 25, followed by the scorecards on March 27, 2026.
Additionally, candidates are advised that they will need to download their scorecards within a specified time frame. Additionally, if any candidate downloads their scorecard after the stipulated deadline, they will be required to pay a late fee of ₹500.
