The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important notice for the 2026 Class 10th and 12th board exams. Clarifying the distribution of marks for practical, project, internal, and theory exams, the board has instructed schools to complete all procedures on time and exercise special caution when uploading marks. The CBSE has stated that schools often make mistakes in the evaluation process, which must be avoided at all costs in the future.

When will practical and internal assessments be conducted?
In its latest circular, the CBSE has clarified that practicals, project work, and internal assessments for Class 10th and 12th will be conducted between January 1st and February 14th, 2026. Schools with winter vacations have been permitted to begin practical exams as early as November 6th, 2025, to ensure all activities are completed in time before the board exams.
Caution is required when uploading marks: CBSE.
The Board has specifically emphasised that schools should avoid any errors when uploading marks. In previous years, numerous errors were found in practical or internal assessment marks, forcing the Board to initiate correction procedures. This time, the CBSE has clarified that requests for correction will not be accepted later under the pretext of “excuses.” Schools have been instructed to carefully read the guidelines provided in the circular before completing the process.
