Monsoon Update: According to the latest bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Southwest Monsoon will advance further into Andaman Nicobar and Maldives in the next 2 days. Cyclone-like weather is present next to Kerala.

Apart from this, another one is on Costanhara. Due to both of these, there will be light to moderate rain in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka along with Kerala, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra, and Yaman for 5 days from today. The speed of strong winds is 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

Weather patterns in the country

IMD has issued a red alert for the heatwave in northern Indian cities like Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and western Uttar Pradesh. Weather agencies have predicted severe heat conditions in these states for the next five days.

This has happened when preparations are being made for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Saturday in many seats of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana along with Delhi. It is expected that the maximum temperature in Delhi NCR areas will reach 47 degrees Celsius on the voting day on May 25.

Heatwave alerts in many states

Speaking on Wednesday, IMD senior scientist Naresh Kumar said, “Currently temperatures are above normal across northwest India and we had issued a red alert for the region in the last 2-3 days.

Regarding the state-wise forecast, we have issued a red alert in Rajasthan for the next five days. The maximum temperature is likely to increase from 45 degrees Celsius to 47 degrees Celsius.”
