DA-Bonus Hike: The government led by Yogi Adityanath is gearing up to offer increased Dearness Allowance (DA) and bonus to the employees of Uttar Pradesh before Diwali. The Finance Department has initiated the process for this purpose. As per reports, a bonus ranging from Rs 3400 to Rs 7000 may be announced, benefiting non-gazetted employees.

Additionally, a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief for government employees and pensioners is being planned by the Finance Department, effective from July. This move will benefit over 12 lakh state employees and more than 6 lakh pensioners, totaling over 18 lakh individuals in the state.

Outsourced employees to receive enhanced honorarium

The Yogi government is also set to raise the honorariums for around 270,000 outsourced employees across various departments before Diwali. It is anticipated that the increased honorariums will commence from September. Consequently, the October salary, which will be disbursed in November, may include arrears for September.

Additionally, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a series of announcements for outsourced employees on September 2nd. On this day, he introduced the Uttar Pradesh Outsourced Services Corporation, inaugurated the UPCOS portal and website, and revealed its logo. During the event, he highlighted the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the State Bank of India (SBI) and the Outsourced Services Corporation.

He mentioned that the honorarium will now be directly deposited into employees’ bank accounts. In case of an accident or disaster, families will receive accident insurance coverage ranging from Rs 20 to Rs 40 lakh, depending on the category. Moreover, in case of a fire, Rs 10 lakh will be provided, Rs 5 lakh for urgent medical expenses, Rs 10 lakh for air ambulance services in emergencies, Rs 8 lakh for a son’s education, and up to Rs 10 lakh for a daughter’s education.

Furthermore, financial aid of Rs 8 to Rs 10 lakh will be extended for the marriage of two daughters. In the unfortunate event of an employee’s demise, the Outsourced Service Corporation will promptly provide Rs 50,000 to the family members through their bank account. Employees’ accounts will be opened with no balance requirement, offering special benefits to four family members.

CM Yogi emphasized that the establishment of a corporation aims to convert outsourced employees into an organized, skilled, secure, and respected workforce. He stressed that timely entitlements benefit not just one individual but the entire family by ensuring a child’s education, mother’s healthcare, and daughter’s future. This provides the family with the assurance that their hard work will not be in vain.
