CNG Price Hike: Big news for everyone. The residents of Uttar Pradesh are facing another financial burden as the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) have once again gone up, leading to varied prices across different cities. In Lucknow, the cost of CNG has been raised by Rs 2 per kilogram on Saturday, escalating from Rs 105 to Rs 107.
Price hike in Unnao
Similarly, in Unnao, CNG rates have surged by Rs 2, increasing the price from Rs 101.75 to Rs 103.75 per kg. This price adjustment came into effect in Lucknow and Unnao starting from October 3rd. Agra will also witness a rise in CNG rates from Rs 105 to Rs 107 per kg starting from October 4th. The steepest increase in CNG prices has been observed in Ayodhya and Sultanpur, where prices have surged by Rs 3.25, elevating the cost from Rs 101.75 to Rs 105 per kg.
Reason for the price hike
Sources indicate that this price surge was necessary due to the escalating gas procurement expenses, which include spikes in spot gas prices and fluctuations in currency exchange rates. This recent alteration is anticipated to raise operational costs for vehicles running on CNG, such as private cars, taxis, auto-rickshaws, and commercial transport services.
Meanwhile Petrol and diesel prices have risen. Nayara Energy, the country’s largest private fuel company, has raised petrol and diesel prices, dealing a significant blow to the middle class.
How much will petrol and diesel prices increase?
Nayara Energy has increased the prices of both petrol and diesel. The company has increased the price of petrol by Rs 5 per liter and diesel by Rs 3 per liter. However, these prices will only apply to Nayara Energy petrol and diesel pumps.
Nayara Energy has raised petrol and diesel prices for the second time this year. Previously, on March 26th, the company had raised petrol prices by Rs 5 per liter and diesel by Rs 3 per liter. However, following a decline in international crude oil prices, Nayara Energy reversed the March price hike on July 1st. Now, petrol and diesel prices have been raised once again.
