The government has taken initiatives to make women financially self-reliant. It has introduced many schemes from time to time. Apart from Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, there are also schemes like Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.
This scheme is to make women self-reliant
With the help of these schemes, the number of women entrepreneurs in the country has increased rapidly. It is expected that the number of women entrepreneurs will increase by 90 percent in the next 5 years. All these schemes of the Government of India are helping women to face the financial challenges of their lives. Know about this scheme and its features.
1. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana:
The aim of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana run by the central government is to increase the number of women entrepreneurs. Through this scheme, women are provided with easy financial assistance. Through this, loans are given to women in small and micro industries. In this, loans of up to 10 lakh rupees are given to women without any collateral. The government also charges low interest on this loan. The repayment period of this loan is minimum 3 years and maximum 5 years.
2. Stand Up India Scheme
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Stand Up India Scheme in April 2016. Under this scheme, SC and ST women entrepreneurs are supported through banks (scheduled commercial banks). In this, loans ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore are given. To get this benefit, women’s participation in the company should be at least 51 percent.
3. Women’s Choir Scheme
Skill development is done among women under the Mahila Choir Yojana. In this, two months of training is given to women associated with the coconut industry. During this period, women also get a monthly allowance. They also get up to 75 percent loan for coconut processing machines. In this case, the government has also made it mandatory to purchase products made by women.
4. Economic Empowerment of Women Enterprises
Currently, the Skilled Development Ministry has launched this scheme for women. It works to develop the skills of women in states like Assam, Rajasthan and Telangana.
5. Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
Under this scheme, women get loans up to Rs 1.40 lakh. Apart from this, interest subsidy is also available. Women from backward classes or those whose annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh are included in this scheme.
6. Trade scheme
TRADE (Trade-Related Entrepreneurship Assistance and Development) scheme works for the economic empowerment of women. In this, the Government of India bears 30 percent of the total project cost. In addition, 70 percent is available in the form of loan.
