What will change after August 31?

According to Paytm, the change will be only in automatic recurring payments. Those who have set up UPI auto payment every month for YouTube Premium, Google One Storage, or other subscription services will have to replace their old handle @paytm with a new bank-linked handle. For example, if someone’s UPI ID was rajesh@paytm earlier, now it will change to rajesh@pthdfc or rajesh@ptsbi.
What will not be affected?
Paytm has assured users that facilities like making payments at shops, sending money to friends or family, bill payments, and online shopping will not be affected in any way. All these transactions will continue as before.
Why did Google Play send an alert?

Google Play sent this notification so that users can update their subscription payments with the new bank-linked UPI handle in time. Actually, from September 1, 2025, the old @paytm handles will not be valid on Google Play. This rule is being implemented at the instructions of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
