Under the ELI scheme, the government will also provide incentives to companies for 2 years. The government estimates that through this scheme, more than 3.5 crore jobs will be created in 2 years, including all sectors. Let us know in detail who will get what benefits under this scheme…
What is ELI scheme?
ELI scheme (Employment Linked Incentive Scheme) was announced in the Union Budget 2024-25 as part of the Prime Minister’s package of five schemes, with a total budget outlay of Rs 2 lakh crore and to create employment opportunities for 4.1 crore youth. This scheme is divided into two parts. First – focus on first-time employees and second – employers.
First time employees registered with EPFO, this part will provide 1 month’s EPF salary up to Rs 15,000 in two installments. This is a separate assistance amount from the salary of the employees. However, it is necessary to be registered with EPFO for this. The first installment will be given on completion of 6 months of service and the second installment will be given on completion of 12 months of service.
Who will get 15 thousand rupees?
The assistance of Rs 15000 will not be given to all employees. Employees with a salary of more than Rs 1 lakh will not be eligible for this. About 1.92 crore employees joining the job for the first time will be given this benefit. This installment will be sent to the savings account of the employees.
Focus on employer
In the second part, the government will give incentives to the employers i.e. companies under this scheme. So that it helps in creating more and more jobs. The government will focus more on the manufacturing sector. The employer will be given incentives on the basis of employees with salary up to Rs 1 lakh. The government will give companies incentives of up to Rs 3000 per month for 2 years for every additional employee with continuous employment for at least 6 months. For the manufacturing sector, this incentive can also be extended to the third and fourth year.
Government of India introduced Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme to enhance job creation, employability, and social security in all sectors with special focus on manufacturing sector.
