If you have a child whose name you want to add to your ration card, it’s a straightforward process. Once you add their name, you’ll also be eligible for the monthly free ration. Plus, you can find out what documents you need to complete this addition. Let’s break down how to do it:

 

First step:

 

1. If your child’s name isn’t on the ration card yet, you can easily add it.

 

2. Start by visiting the official website of your state’s food supply department. For instance, if you’re in Uttar Pradesh, go to https://fcs.up.gov.in/.

 

Second step:

 

1. Look for the option that says ‘Add name of new member in ration card’ and click on it.

 

2. A form will pop up where you’ll need to fill in all the details about your child.

 

3. Next, you’ll need to gather the necessary documents, pay the application fee, and submit everything.

 

Here’s what you need:

 

1. To add your child’s name to the ration card, the first document you’ll need is their birth certificate.

 

2. You can obtain the birth certificate from the Municipal Corporation, Municipality, or Gram Panchayat.

 

3. The second document required is a passport-sized photo of the head of the family (the person whose name is on the ration card).

 

4. Don’t forget, you’ll also need your child’s Aadhaar card when adding their name to the ration card.
