Vande Bharat Sleeper- Train passengers have been waiting for the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains for quite some time. Now, there’s good news for them. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced when the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will begin arriving on railway tracks. Let’s explain.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated that the Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be launched soon. He stated that the second train is expected to be completed by mid-October, while the first train is ready for use after necessary tests and trial runs. The Railways is working on a plan to launch both trains simultaneously to ensure regular night travel services.
Railway officials stated that the first train has successfully passed all tests and trial runs and is currently at the Shakur Basti Coach Depot in Delhi. Ashwini Vaishnav stated that the second train is under construction and will likely be ready by October 15th. He stated that both trains will be launched simultaneously. The second train is crucial to maintaining the continuity of regular services.
On which route will this train run first?
According to the Railway Minister, “We are waiting for the second rake. Once we receive it, we will decide on the route and begin operations.” It is believed that these trains will be introduced on the New Delhi-Patna route in view of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, which are scheduled to take place later this year.
Using Integral Coach Factory (ICF) technology, state-owned BEML has developed the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, which will consist of 16 coaches divided into AC First Class, AC 2-Tier, and AC 3-Tier. It will carry 1,128 passengers at a time and reach a maximum speed of 180 kmph, making it one of the fastest night train services in the country. The train will feature world-class amenities, including integrated reading lights with USB charging, automatic announcement and visual information systems, security cameras, a modular pantry, and disabled-friendly berths and toilets.
