The Indian Railways’ Lakshmilav has continued since the beginning of the year. The wheels of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train rolled in January. And with it, a new chapter has begun in the Indian Railways. The superhit Vande Bharat Sleeper version has been a houseful since the first day. The ticket booking for the train from Howrah to Kamakhya has been practically housefull even before the start of the ticket booking. The tickets for this train have not been matched for several subsequent trips. The Railways has also been encouraged by the popularity of the Vande Bharat Sleeper.
Demand for tickets for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train is increasing
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that looking at the demand for tickets, plans have been made to build 260 more Vande Bharat Sleeper Expresses. Currently, if the number of seats in the train is 100, then 128 tickets are being sold. Railway officials said that it is not the case that all passengers on the Howrah-Kamakhya route get off at Howrah station and go all the way to Kamakhya. Many people are getting down at New Jalpaiguri. From there, new passengers are getting on again. That is, tickets are being booked twice for the same seat.
AC coach occupancy is highest:
According to the news received from railway sources, the ‘occupancy’ of AC first class is the highest, about 133 percent. The occupancy of AC two-tier and AC three-tier is 116 and 117 percent respectively. Seeing the success of Vande Bharat Sleeper, the railways are planning to introduce this train on other routes in the country.
More trains will be made: In this regard, the Railway Minister said that 260 more Vande Bharat Sleepers are being made in a joint venture between Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory and Bengaluru’s Bharat Earthmovers Limited. According to railway sources, the cost of making each 16-coach Vande Bharat Sleeper is about 140 crore rupees. That is, the railways are going to spend a lot of money to make 260 such trains.

Regarding this, railway officials said that the design of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express coaches has been made in accordance with ‘European standards’ for the safety of passengers. The coaches have been made using anti-climber technology. There are also fire-resistant doors and armor protection.
