UPI Transaction Failed Solution: In today’s world, UPI has become an integral part of our daily lives. Whether it’s a small amount or a large payment, most people use UPI for transactions. However, sometimes it happens that the transaction appears successful on the UPI app, and the money is debited from the account, but the recipient says they haven’t received the amount. In such a situation, it’s natural to panic, especially when you don’t know what to do next.
In most cases, this type of problem occurs due to technical reasons. Such as a slow network, bank server downtime, or a temporary delay in the UPI system. The good news is that in most cases, this problem resolves itself. Either the money reaches the receiver after some time, or it is automatically credited back to your account.

Money Debited But Not Received by the Recipient
If money has been debited from your account, first check the transaction status in your UPI app. If the status shows “Pending,” it means the payment is still being processed. In this case, it’s best to wait for a while.
If the status shows “Failed” and yet the money has been debited from your account, then it becomes necessary to take further steps. Usually, the matter resolves itself within 30 to 60 minutes. According to NPCI, a successful UPI transaction shows a success message on the app and an SMS from the bank. If nothing happens even after an hour, you should be cautious.
What to Do If the Money Is Not Received Even After an Hour
If, after an hour, the money has neither been returned nor received by the recipient, then file a complaint in the Support or Help section of your UPI app. You can easily file a complaint there by entering the transaction ID.
If you don’t get a solution from the app within 24 hours, contact your bank’s customer care. According to RBI rules, banks are required to resolve such complaints within 3 working days.

What to do if the bank doesn’t resolve the issue?
If the problem is not resolved at the bank level, the complaint can be escalated to NPCI. Even after this, if no solution is found within 30 days, you can file a complaint with the RBI Banking Ombudsman.
Money getting stuck in UPI transactions is certainly a frustrating experience, but there’s no need to panic. With the right information, a little patience, and by following the prescribed procedure, you can get your money back safely. Keep complete records of every transaction and remember to file a complaint promptly.
