UPI Payment: These days, whatever payment has to be made, digital payments are definitely used. With the arrival of UPI, digital payments have become even faster. In such a situation, if you are a UPI user, then this is big news for you. There are going to be many changes in the rules of UPI for you people from August 1, 2025.

Actually, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued a circular about this. Where if you use PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm UPI, then some of their features are going to be limited.

This limit will be imposed on those services that people use repeatedly through phone apps. Such as checking balance, allowing autopay, and viewing transaction status. After which the way of using UPI payment apps will change somewhere. Let’s know:

You will be able to check your balance only 50 times

According to the new guidelines, UPI users will be able to check their balance only 50 times a day. That is, if a customer uses both PhonePe and Paytm apps, then he will now be able to check his balance only 50 times on each app. Its purpose is to make the UPI app work properly. Because checking the balance repeatedly increases the load on its server. Due to which the system becomes slow.

Banks send alerts along with transactions

NPCI has instructed that after the transaction, banks will have to send information about the available balance to the customers. At the same time, UPI apps will have to arrange for special technology to prevent repeated balance checks during peak hours. This will make the core infrastructure of UPI stable and convenient.

Action will be taken for breaking the rules

If banks or PSPs do not follow these rules, steps like API blocking and fines can be taken against them. Along with this, all PSPs will have to submit the undertaking to NPCI by August 31, 2025. This will ensure that all system-generated APIs will be “queued” and their speed will be limited.
