UPI Down: If you use an online payment app, then there is bad news for you. Actually, today, i.e., on 12th April 2025, many users across the country are facing difficulty in making digital payments. Because Unified Payments Interface (UPI), i.e., Paytm, PhonePe, and Google Pay, faced a major outage.
Due to which many users are facing problems in making online transactions or payments. People are also registering complaints about this on social media platforms. At the same time, the same problem was seen in March last month. Let us tell you about this news in detail.
Users Are facing these problems
According to the data of Downdetector, many complaints reached the peak due to UPI being down around 12 noon, in which more than 1,200 users have reported this problem.
Apart from this, it is also being said that 66% of users had problems in making payments, while 34% were unable to transfer funds. These problems were seen on different banks and apps, which points to a major flaw.
NPCI Told The Reason
At the same time, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which operates UPI, has issued an official statement saying that this is happening due to an ‘intermittent technical issue.’
But some users say that there has been a problem in transactions since morning. If seen, the incidents of UPI outage have increased in the last few months. This problem has been seen again today after March 2025.
What should users do now?
- If your UPI is also not working, then you can use alternative options like IMPS, NEFT, or RTGS.
- Use other UPI apps like BHIM or the bank’s direct app.
- And if you do not want to use any other app, then you will have to wait until this problem is resolved.
