Update Your Passport: Whether you’re travelling abroad, studying at an international university, or preparing to settle in another country, all require a passport and visa. A passport is an official proof of your identity and Indian citizenship, while a visa is a permit issued by a country’s government that allows you to enter, live, or work there.
If you’ve recently moved house, it’s crucial to update the new address on all relevant documents. Similarly, updating your passport is essential. Whether you’ve moved city or moved house within your own area, it’s crucial to enter the new address on your passport. This can be done both online and offline. However, you’ll need to visit a Passport Seva Kendra for document verification.
Why is it important to update your passport address?
A passport is considered the primary document of identity and address, not only in India but also abroad. In such a situation, failing to update your address after moving house can cause problems in future processes like passport reissue, police verification, visa application, international travel, and bank KYC. Therefore, it is always better to update your address on time.
