Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken an extraordinary step, fulfilling a long-standing demand of sanitation workers. He announced at the ceremony that no one will be able to usurp their hard-earned money. The Chief Minister assured that in the coming days, an amount of ₹16,000 to ₹20,000 will be transferred directly to the sanitation workers’ bank accounts. This Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will ensure they receive their full wages and eliminate the possibility of exploitation. This decision will strengthen their financial situation.

₹5 Lakh Ayushman Card

 

CM Yogi has made another major announcement prioritizing the health security of sanitation workers and their families. The government will soon provide sanitation workers with the Ayushman Bharat Card. This card will provide them with free treatment up to ₹5 lakh. This health insurance will serve as a strong safety net for their families in case of emergencies and critical illnesses, preventing them from taking out loans for treatment.

Holiday and Honors on Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti

CM Yogi honored sanitation workers who made outstanding contributions under the “Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada” and distributed cleaning kits to them. He also showered these sanitation workers with flowers. The Chief Minister announced that October 7 will be a public holiday on the occasion of Lord Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. He praised the extraordinary role of Maharishi Valmiki, saying that he was the architect of the destiny of Sanatan Dharma and the creator of India’s Rishi tradition, who composed the world’s greatest epic.

Praising PM Modi and Calling for Unity in Society on Diwali

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He said that Prime Minister Modi launched this campaign in 2014, with the primary goal of creating awareness about cleanliness among every citizen. CM Yogi appealed to society to distribute sweets to every sanitation worker on the occasion of Diwali.

He said that lamps should be lit in every poor person’s home and the joys of Diwali should reach everyone. He said, “This is the harmony of society. Our job is to unite, while the Samajwadi Party and Congress are busy dividing. We must not allow society to be divided.” This historic announcement is an extraordinary effort towards giving self-respect and financial security to sanitation workers.
