UP Government Implements Old Pension Scheme for Eligible Employees

New Delhi: Relief news has come about the old pension. Following the central government’s decision, the administration has decided to clear the way for providing old retirement to those who secured jobs based on advertisements issued before March 28, 2005, in the relevant bodies. Additionally, these individuals have also been asked to provide options.

It has been stated that a copy of the certified service book should be provided to the Directorate of Local Bodies. The central government implemented the new pension system after 2005. There are some employees whose recruitment advertisement was issued earlier, and they were unable to receive the benefit of the LD pension. The central government has decided to provide an old-age pension to such employees. The departments of UP are also working to implement it gradually.

The director in charge of the local body has also issued instructions to the relevant bodies regarding these matters. The instructions stated that government employees of the state government covered by the national system, who have been selected for such posts or vacancies, are covered. Their advertisement was created after the implementation of the new pension scheme.

Therefore, the posts for which advertisement has been done before March 28, 2025, are being given the benefit of old pension. The Municipal Commissioner and Executive Officer will send the names of such officers and employees by filling in the complete data for the current post, pay scale, and date of birth on the prescribed proforma. Additionally, information regarding the department issuing the advertisement for recruitment to the post of first appointment under the state government will be provided.

The notification post and its copy, date of taking charge, and option letter (if given before October 31, 2020) will need to be sent, along with the recommendation of the head of the department. Additionally, a certified photocopy of the service book has been requested. On this basis, eligible officers and employees will be given the old pension facility.
