How to Update Your Mobile Number on Aadhaar
To begin, open the new Aadhaar mobile app on your smartphone.
Next, proceed to log in using Aadhaar-based authentication.
Following this, you will see a section labelled ‘Services’ on the app’s homepage. Clicking on this section will display various options, including the ‘Update Mobile Number’ feature.
Click on this option. The app will then display the mobile number currently linked to your Aadhaar profile. Here, you must enter the new mobile number that you wish to link to your Aadhaar.
After entering the number, an OTP will be sent to that new mobile number. You must enter this OTP into the app to verify it.
Subsequently, you will need to complete an authentication process. Once the OTP is successfully verified, your request to update your mobile number will be submitted to the UIDAI.
Know the Applicable Fee
For your information, updating your mobile number or address via the Aadhaar app requires the payment of a nominal fee. According to reports, a fee of approximately ₹75 is charged to the user for this service. As for the processing time, it typically takes between 110 and 15 days for the changes to be reflected in the Aadhaar records.
