If there is a spelling mistake in your name on the Aadhaar card, then there is no need to make unnecessary rounds. Now, the times have changed so much that you will not even have to go to the Aadhaar card centre. UIDAI has made the process very easy online since July 2025.
You just need to have a phone number linked to your Aadhaar card, any paper with your name (PAN card or voter ID), and after that, you can complete this process on your mobile in a short time. People are also taking advantage of this simple process in large numbers.

How to correct the name in the Aadhaar card
For this, first you have to go to the My Aadhaar portal and log in with your Aadhaar number + OTP.
After this, click on Update Aadhaar Online. Then the option of Name Correction has to be selected.
Then you have to type the correct name.
Upload the scan of the document. Do it and upload the scan of the document.
After this, there will be a need to save the URN (Update Request Number).
Then, after 2–3 days, you will need to download the new Aadhaar.
