Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam, Srikakulam and Amalapuram are considered to be the worst affected areas. Heavy rain and strong winds are likely in Gopalpur, Jagatsinghpur, Puri and Malkangiri districts. Chennai and surrounding coastal areas have been advised to remain alert, although the direct impact there will be less.
