Limit chat history with Disappearing Messages
The Disappearing Messages feature helps prevent chats from being saved for extended periods. Users can choose to have messages automatically deleted after 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days. This feature can also be applied to all new chats by default. While it doesn’t protect against screenshots, it does reduce unnecessary chat history.

Enhance account security with Two-Step Verification and Passkey
Two-Step Verification is crucial for securing your WhatsApp account. This feature sets an additional PIN that is required when logging in on a new device. Adding an email ID also makes account recovery easier. WhatsApp’s Passkey support further reduces the risk of unauthorized access.

Secure private conversations with App Lock and Chat Lock
The WhatsApp App Lock feature integrates with your phone’s biometric security system, preventing the app from opening without a fingerprint or face ID. The Chat Lock feature, on the other hand, moves specific chats to a separate secure folder. These chats cannot be accessed without biometric authentication and can be instantly cleared if needed.

In Advanced Security Settings, messages from unknown numbers can be blocked. Options like IP address protection and disabling link previews help protect against online tracking and phishing scams. This feature significantly reduces the risk of harm from suspicious links.

Advanced Chat Privacy provides more control
The Advanced Chat Privacy feature gives users additional control over their chat data. Through this, automatic media downloads can be disabled, and sharing of chat content outside of WhatsApp can be restricted. Control over message usage is also possible through AI features, which can be applied to both personal and group chats.

Read Receipts and Media Downloads enhance privacy
