What is the Gruha Lakshmi Yojana?

Which women are eligible for the scheme?
Only women who are registered as the head of the family in the ration card are eligible for this scheme. This scheme applies to BPL, Antyodaya, and some eligible APL ration cardholder families. The woman must be a resident of Karnataka and have a bank account linked to her Aadhaar card.
Key Eligibility Conditions
The woman must be the head of the family to be eligible for the scheme. The family must be a resident of Karnataka state. There should be no member in the family who pays income tax or GST. Only one woman per family can benefit from the scheme. Women from economically weaker sections are given priority.
Who is not eligible for the scheme?
Women from families of government employees or families who pay income tax and GST are excluded from this scheme. Also, families where the woman’s name is not registered as the head of the family cannot avail of this scheme.
Payment Process
The government sends the funds directly to the bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under this scheme. This ensures that beneficiaries receive the money without any intermediaries. In some cases, the payment may be received in installments depending on bank processing and Aadhaar verification.
