There is great news for the government employees of Telangana. The state government has given a big gift to its employees by increasing the Dearness Allowance (DA) by a huge 3.4 percent. This is not an ordinary increase, but these new rates will be applicable from January 1, 2023, which means that the employees will also get huge arrears from 2023 to 2025.

The Finance Department has also issued orders in this regard, due to which the happiness of the employees knows no bounds. Let us know in detail the full account of this DA increase, who will get its benefit, and by when will the pending money come.

Huge jump in DA and DR

According to the order of the Finance Department, DA has been increased from 26.39% to 30.03% of the basic salary from January 1, 2023. This increase will have a direct and positive impact on the pockets of the employees.

Not only employees, but pensioners will also get the benefit of this increase. Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners has also been increased from 26.39% to 30.03% of the basic pension from January 1, 2023. Separate orders will be issued after six months regarding the pending DA and DR from July 1, 2023. This means that employees can expect even more increases in the future.

How will the arrears be paid

This DA increase is not only for the future, but it also has a provision for arrears, which will be a big financial aid for the employees. Retired employees will be paid their DA arrears in 28 installments. This will ensure that they get their dues regularly. For employees who are covered under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), 10% (10%) of their DA arrears will be added to their PRAN accounts.

The remaining 90% (90%) will be paid in installments along with the June salary. This is a balanced approach, where some amount is being secured for the future and the rest will be available immediately.

These employees will also get the benefit

Employees of Zila Parishads, Mandal Parishads, Gram Panchayats, Municipalities, Municipal Corporations, Agricultural Market Committees, and District Headquarters Institutions, who are receiving regular pay scale in the Revised Pay Scale, 2020, will also get the benefit of this DA hike.

Teaching and non-teaching staff of aided institutions including aided polytechnics, who are receiving regular pay scales in the Revised Pay Scale, 2020, will also come under the purview of this scheme.
