Silver Rate Drop Feb 10: Wedding season is underway in India, so if you’re thinking of buying gold jewellery, silver utensils, or anklets, you have a great opportunity. Gold and silver prices fell today, February 10th. MCX gold futures with an April 2 expiry date fell 1.6%, or approximately ₹2,065, to ₹1,56,001 per 10 grams. Silver also fell by more than ₹5,500 per kilogram, reaching ₹2,56,864. Gold and silver prices have been declining since reaching record highs on January 29th. Spot gold fell 0.5% to $5,032.53 per ounce by 8:00 am in Singapore. Silver fell 1.8% to $81.92.
How much did silver become cheaper?
Silver prices have declined significantly in recent times. On January 29th, silver prices crossed the historic ₹4 lakh mark for the first time, hitting a lifetime high of ₹4,20,048. After reaching this level, silver began to crash the very next day. However, a slight uptick was observed in recent days as well. Consequently, the silver price trend continues to fluctuate.
Speaking of commodity markets, silver opened significantly below its previous close. On Monday, it closed at ₹2,62,620 per kg on MCX and fell to ₹2,56,864 at the opening of Tuesday. The price of 1 kg of silver, expiring on March 5th, has fallen by ₹5,756. Meanwhile, it has fallen by ₹1,63,184 from its high.
