The Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to start on September 9. Before this big event, bad news has come for India. Star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who was injured during the England tour, has been ruled out of the tournament. Pant was hit on the foot by a ball from Chris Woakes during the fourth Test against England, which caused a fracture. Because of this injury, he could not play the last match of the series. Earlier, it was said that he would be out of cricket for 6 weeks. But according to a report by the Times of India, apart from the Asia Cup, Rishabh Pant will also miss the Test series against the West Indies in October.
Pant Likely to Miss Asia Cup and West Indies Series Due to Painful Fracture
The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the UAE from 9 to 28 September. After this, India will host a 2-match Test series against the West Indies, with the first match starting on 2 October. If Rishabh Pant misses this series too, he may make his comeback during the Australia tour, where India will play a 3-match ODI and a 5-match T20 series. If he is not fit by then, his return could come in November during the 2-Test home series against South Africa.
🚨 Rishabh Pant is set to miss the Asia Cup 2025 and is also doubtful for the Test series against West Indies due to a fractured toe.

A Painful Injury, Yet a Fighting Knock
Pant sustained the injury while attempting a reverse sweep on a delivery from Chris Woakes during the Manchester Test. The ball struck him directly on the foot, causing severe pain. Unable to walk, he had to be taken off the field in a mini ambulance. A scan revealed a fracture in his leg. Despite the injury, Pant came out to bat the next day when the team needed him, scoring a brilliant half-century. The Test ended in a draw. India went on to win the final match of the series at The Oval by 6 runs, leveling the series 2-2.
