Ration Card E-KYC Update: If you are a ration card holder, this news is essential for you. The government is providing wheat and rice at subsidised rates to ration card holders. Recently, the government has issued instructions for ration card holders to complete necessary tasks on time; failure to do so may result in difficulties.

The government is continuously striving to ensure that all ration card holders covered under the National Food Security Act receive their rations on time and correctly. Currently, the Food and Consumer Protection Department has decided to launch a special campaign in Bihar. The objective of this campaign is to identify suspicious and ineligible beneficiaries and complete Aadhaar seeding (e-KYC) for all eligible beneficiaries.

Know When to Get Verification Done

According to information received from the department, based on the RCMS data received from the central government, all sub-divisional officers have been instructed to conduct physical verification in their respective areas in a camp mode between December 17 and December 30, 2025. In this campaign, ration cards with incomplete or suspicious information will be corrected, and if necessary, they may also be removed from the list.

e-KYC Mandatory for All Beneficiaries

Under this special campaign, the e-KYC process will be completed for all eligible beneficiaries included in the National Food Security Act. Instructions have also been given to create awareness among beneficiaries and cardholders so that as many people as possible can reach the camps and get their e-KYC done. The government has made it clear that ineligible people will be removed from the list during this campaign, so that eligible people can receive their rations on time.

Easy Ways to Get e-KYC Done

You can get your e-KYC done at several places. You can complete this process by visiting your nearest Public Distribution System (PDS) shop. For this, you will need to carry your ration card and Aadhaar cards of all family members. The dealer will update the e-KYC by scanning the fingerprints or eye scans of all members through the POS machine.

Alternatively, you can also get your e-KYC done by visiting the Block Supply Office or the Sub-Divisional Office. There, the operator will complete the process based on your Aadhaar and ration card. This facility will also be available at special e-KYC camps organised by the district administration at the panchayat or municipal level.

Keep these points in mind:

Please note that e-KYC is mandatory for all family members. The name, date of birth, and mobile number on the Aadhaar card must be correct. If fingerprint verification fails, use iris scanning for verification.

Where to go if you encounter problems?

If you face any problems with e-KYC, you can contact your nearest ration dealer, the Block Supply Officer’s office, or the district-level helpline.
