Know what is the new rule?
For information, let us tell you that the government has made it clear that it is now mandatory to do e-KYC of all members above 5 years of age of every ration card holder family. Earlier, the last date to complete this process was fixed as 30 June, which has now been extended to 31 August. In such a situation, if you do not get e-KYC done by this date, then your ration card can be suspended, and the free ration you get can be stopped.
How to do e-KYC?
If you are thinking of getting eKYC done, then let us tell you that getting e-KYC is very easy. For this, you have to go to the Public Distribution System (PDS) portal of your state government. After that, go to the portal and choose the option of e-KYC or ration card services. Now enter your ration card number. After entering the details, enter the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card. OTP will come to this number. This OTP has to be entered. After doing this, your e-KYC will be completed.

Why is it necessary to get eKYC done?
For information, let us tell you that the objective of the government is to remove fake beneficiaries from this, and only eligible people get the benefit of the schemes. Therefore, with the help of e-KYC, the government determines the identity of the real beneficiaries and essential facilities like ration are limited only to the needy.
