Ration Card New Update: If you are a ration cardholder, this news could be very important for you. Currently, very little time is left for ration cardholders. The Food and Supply Department has clearly instructed that beneficiaries who do not complete e-KYC by December 31st will not receive rations from January onwards. The department will not issue grain quotas in the name of such cards from next year, as the identification process has not been completed.

According to the department, a large number of such ration cards are registered in the system whose actual beneficiaries have either moved to another location or are no longer alive. In some cases, there is also a suspicion that the same person has ration cards linked in two different places. To rectify these irregularities, e-KYC has been made mandatory, and December 31st has been set as the last date.

These schemes will also be stopped along with the rations

According to the information, if a consumer’s ration card is cancelled due to not completing e-KYC, its impact will not be limited to food grains only. Such beneficiaries will also be excluded from several important government schemes. These include the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana, labour schemes, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, crop insurance scheme, Ujjwala Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. A ration card is necessary to avail the benefits of all these schemes.

Verification will be done under Awas Plus 2024

To make the Awas Plus-2024 campaign under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin more transparent, special steps have been taken in the Sattarkataiya block. Here, eligible families will be checked and verified through a verification module, so that the correct beneficiaries can be selected.

12 officers assigned responsibility

Block Development Officer Rohit Kumar Sah has informed the Deputy Development Commissioner that 12 officers and employees have been selected to work on the verification module of Awas Soft. These officers will complete the process of checking and verifying families through a survey.

Verification will be done at the ground level

These officials are responsible for visiting different panchayats and identifying genuinely needy families. According to the administration, this process will ensure transparency in the selection of beneficiaries, and the benefits of the scheme will reach only those families who need it the most.

The block administration believes that the effective use of the verification module will help in achieving the targets of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (Prime Minister’s Rural Housing Scheme) more quickly. This will further strengthen the process of providing permanent housing to poor and homeless families.
