India’s population is more than 100 crores. Even today, many people in the country are unable to arrange two meals a day. Such people are given free or low-cost ration under the National Food Security Scheme run by the Government of India. To get the benefit of this scheme, it is necessary to have a ration card. People who do not have a ration card cannot get help from this scheme.
If you already have a ration card but have not done this important work, you may lose the benefits. Even with a ration card, you will not be able to get the ration. Your name can also be removed from the ration card list. If you do not want your name to be removed, complete this work on time. The government has issued clear guidelines for this.
Names Will Be Removed Without e-KYC
The government has made strict rules for ration cards. According to the new guidelines, the names of those ration card holders who have not done e-KYC will be removed. The government says that e-KYC is necessary to ensure that the benefits go to the right people. Without e-KYC, there can be fraud or misuse of the scheme.
That is why this step has been taken. Now, e-KYC is mandatory for all ration card holders. If you have not done e-KYC yet, complete it as soon as possible. Otherwise, your name may be removed from the ration card list.
How to Do e-KYC
To complete your ration card e-KYC, visit your nearest ration dealer or public service center. You will need to do biometric verification using your Aadhaar card.
In many states, e-KYC can also be done online. You can log in to the official portal using your mobile or computer, enter your Aadhaar number, and complete e-KYC using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
If you are facing problems with fingerprint or OTP, you can complete the e-KYC process by visiting the offline center. You will only be able to use ration card benefits after e-KYC is done. The government has also fixed a last date for e-KYC, so make sure to complete the process before that.
