What is the Lado Incentive Scheme?
The Lado Protsahan Yojana is a welfare scheme of the Rajasthan government, under which financial assistance of up to ₹1.5 lakh will be provided to girl children born in government hospitals or authorised health centres in the state.
The objective of this scheme is to promote the birth of girls, ensure their health and education, and financially support families. This scheme, formerly known as the “Rajshree Yojana,” was redesigned in 2024 and renamed the “Lado Protsahan Yojana.”
How and when will the money be received?
Under this scheme, the government will transfer a total of ₹1.5 lakh to girls in seven instalments until they reach the age of 21. The amount will be given at each stage as follows:
- At birth – ₹5,000
- At one year of age and after vaccination – ₹5,000
- On admission to first grade – ₹10,000
- On admission to sixth grade – ₹15,000
- On admission to tenth grade – ₹20,000
- On admission to twelfth grade – ₹25,000
- On completion of graduation or at the age of 21 – ₹70,000
Thus, the government will provide financial support at every important stage of daughters’ upbringing and education.
How did the ‘Rajshree Yojana’ become the ‘Lado Yojana’?
Previously, this scheme was being run under the name Rajshree Yojana, under which assistance of up to ₹50,000 was provided. However, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expanded the scheme in 2024, renaming it the “Lado Protsahan Yojana” and increasing the amount to ₹1.5 lakh.
It was formally implemented on the occasion of Women’s Day to further promote positive attitudes towards daughters in society.
