Post Office ATM– Big update for Post Office account holders. New ATM cards will be issued to 1.5 lakh account holders of post offices by October. The ATM cards of those account holders whose validity has expired will not be renewed during this period. The problems of post office account holders have increased. They are facing huge problems.
At present, there is no automatic renewal facility for those whose ATM card has expired, nor is a new card being issued on manual application. When customers reach the post office, they are told that there is no renewal facility for ATM cards and new ATM cards are not available. In such a situation, customers are facing problems in online transactions and cash withdrawal.
The companies with which the Postal Department had a tie-up for printing ATM cards have stopped working for the post office. This is the reason why neither the old cards are being renewed nor new ATM cards are being issued. However, the department has signed a contract with a new company. But the supply of ATM cards from that company has not started yet.
Dozens of customers are reaching post offices every day for ATM cards. But the employees turn them away saying that the cards are expected to arrive in October. After this, applications will be taken. New ATM cards will be issued. The trouble of those account holders whose ATM cards have expired has increased. Online transactions have completely stopped. Transactions have stopped due to the card number not being active on any digital payment platform. Customers are also facing long queues in post offices to withdraw money.
According to customers Shridhar Prasad, Pankaj Kumar, Amar Yadav, Ruby Kumari, the validity of their cards has expired. For some, the validity expired in February, while for some, it expired in April-May. When the renewal did not happen automatically even in three-four months, they went to the post office with their application. The postal workers told them that the company with which they have tied up for the ATM card has stopped working. Hence, there is no new ATM card to be issued.
Only one ATM machine of the post office is installed outside the main post office. Along with removing the old machine and installing a new one, preparations are now underway to install a second ATM machine in the city.
