PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: Crores of farmers across the country are waiting for the disbursement of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Under the Central Sector Scheme, the Central Government transfers Rs 6000 each year to farmers’ accounts via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). Small and marginal farmers receive this sum in three equal payments of Rs 2000. The government has now announced, referring to the latest data, that within 100 days of the new government’s establishment, 25 lakh additional farmers have enrolled in the scheme, and they will receive an annual financial aid of Rs 6000.
Previously, while providing additional information regarding the scheme, the government noted that there is significant participation of women in it as well. As per the data, one in every four beneficiaries is female. Consequently, this initiative is significantly contributing to the empowerment of women. Concurrently, during the Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra campaign, over 1 crore farmers were incorporated into the program nationwide.
