Pension Update — Big news for pensioners. One wrong step and it will cost you very much. The Rajasthan government has completed preparations to make a big change in the social pension schemes. Now the pension of those people is in danger whose electricity bills are high and whose income limit is also high. The Social Justice and Empowerment Department had sent a proposal to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma regarding this , which has been approved by the cabinet. In such a situation, the pensions of lakhs of people in the state may be stopped soon.
Beneficiaries of these schemes will be affected
At present, schemes like old-age pension , single women’s pension, and special disabled pension are being run. The department will now review these schemes and identify those pensioners whose electricity bills and income are both high. Such beneficiaries can be declared ineligible, and their pension can be stopped.
In a confidential survey conducted by the government, it was revealed that the electricity bills of many pensioners are much higher than the normal limit. Apart from this, their income was also found to be above the prescribed standards. The department prepared a proposal based on this information, and now, under the new rules, action will be taken against those who are not eligible as per the rules.
91 lakh people are getting pensions
At the present time , the Social Welfare Department is giving a monthly pension of Rs 1150 to Rs 1500 to more than 91 lakh people of the state. But now, after reviewing the electricity bill and income, the pension of a large number of people may stop.
