NSP Scholarship- The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has started the online application process for scholarships for school and college students across the country for the academic year 2025-26. According to the official notification, “Applications are now being invited for pre-matric, post-matric and top class schemes of all ministries and departments.”
It is worth noting that NSP is a digital platform that helps students in the entire process from application to getting the scholarship amount directly into the bank account. Scholarships available under NSP
The National Scholarship Portal offers various types of scholarships for students of different categories and academic qualifications. These mainly include the following schemes:
Merit Based Scholarship: For students with excellent academic performance.
Means Based Scholarship: Given to students from economically weaker sections.
Minority Scholarship: For students belonging to Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist and Parsi communities.
Pre-Matric Scholarship: For school students studying from class 1 to 10.
Post-Matric Scholarship: For students from class 11 to pursuing higher education.
Central Sector Scholarship: Offered to undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD level students.
State specific scholarships: Schemes issued by different state governments, which have varying eligibility rules and benefits.
Eligibility Criteria
To receive the NSP scholarship, students have to fulfill some general eligibility conditions. The major ones are:
The maximum annual family income of the applicant should be Rs 2,50,000.
The student must have successfully passed the previous qualifying examination.
Valid Aadhar Card is Mandatory.
Students from reserved categories are required to submit a valid caste certificate if they are applying under the respective category.

NSP is a centralized platform operated under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) of the Government of India. It simplifies the process of sending scholarships directly to the accounts of students through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Through the portal, students can search, apply and monitor their status of various schemes without any cost.
Application Process
Firstly visit the official website scholarships.gov.in.
Click on “Apply for Scholarship” option on the homepage.
Register by filling in your personal information.
After registration a reference number will be sent to your mobile number.
Download Aadhaar Face RD & NSP OTR App for identity verification.
Complete facial recognition and generate OTR ID.
When the scholarship form opens, apply using this OTR ID.
Fill the application form, upload documents and make final submission.
