Indian Railway: Passengers holding RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) tickets in AC coaches will now receive a complete bedroll service. Previously, two passengers with RAC tickets shared a single bedroll, leading to discomfort and disputes. With the new arrangement, each RAC passenger will receive an individual packaged bedroll containing two bedsheets, a blanket, a pillow, and a towel.
Enhance the comfort of RAC passengers
This initiative aims to enhance the comfort of RAC passengers and eliminate complaints regarding unequal treatment. They will now enjoy amenities similar to those of confirmed ticket holders, allowing for a more pleasant journey to their destinations. Although passengers with RAC tickets pay the full fare, they previously had to share a seat on the side lower berth. Under the new policy, they will receive bedrolls comparable to those provided to confirmed ticket holders. The coach attendant will ensure that the bedroll is delivered promptly upon arrival at the berth.
RAC passenger will not get these benefits
Each RAC passenger will now be given a packaged bedroll, which includes a bedsheet, pillow, blanket, and towel. This change guarantees that both passengers traveling on RAC tickets will have separate bedrolls, thereby reducing inconvenience and potential conflicts. Furthermore, RAC passengers will now have access to the same facilities as confirmed ticket holders.
The railway authorities must ensure timely delivery of bedrolls to all RAC passengers to facilitate the smooth implementation of this service. This measure represents a significant advancement in safeguarding the rights and improving the travel experience of RAC passengers.
