Toll hits NH-9 too
Travelers passing through the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and NH-9 will also have to pay more money as toll tax. After this new order, the one-way toll for cars and jeeps from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut has increased from ₹165 to ₹170. The toll for light commercial vehicles and buses has now become ₹275 and for trucks ₹580. It is worth noting that the last increase in toll tax rates was in June 2024, and this is the second increase in toll in less than a year, which is no less than a nightmare for the common man.
At the Chhijarsi toll plaza on NH-9, now ₹175 will have to be paid directly for the car instead of ₹170. A hefty toll of ₹280 will have to be paid for light commercial vehicles and ₹590 for buses and trucks. The toll tax has been increased to a maximum of ₹590 for cargo vehicles with more than seven axles. Toll will be collected at the old rate till March 31, but after that this new hammer of inflation is sure to fall on your pocket. The toll from Ghaziabad to Meerut is also going to increase from ₹70 to ₹75.
Increasing terror of toll on Delhi-Jaipur highway

Now you will have to pay more toll than before on Delhi-Jaipur highway. NHAI has issued a notification to implement new rates at Kherki Daula toll plaza. Although there has been no change in the toll tax of cars and jeeps here, NHAI has increased the toll by ₹5 on big vehicles. Here you will have to pay the increased amount on every journey, no matter how soon you return.
The 24-hour rule also does not apply to the Kherki Daula toll. This simply means that even if you return within 24 hours, you will still have to pay the same toll tax as you paid while leaving. That is, for a one-way journey (coming and going) you will have to pay ₹10 more directly.
The monthly pass at Kherki Daula toll has also become costlier by ₹20. Now you will have to pay ₹950 instead of ₹930. Commercial car and jeep owners will have to pay ₹85 per way, but their monthly pass will also be for ₹1255 instead of ₹1225. LMVs and minibuses will have to pay ₹125 instead of ₹120 for a one-way journey, which is another blow to middle-class commuters.
