Vande Bharat Train: Good news for railway passengers. The Jammu Division of Northern Railway has announced a major relief for passengers troubled by frequent flight cancellations. In response to the increasing passenger rush and emergency situations, the divisional administration has decided to run a special Vande Bharat Express. This special train will operate between New Delhi – Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur) – New Delhi in three trips from December 12 to December 14, 2025.
New Delhi to Udhampur: Train No. 02439
This Vande Bharat special will depart from New Delhi at 06:00 AM and arrive at Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan Station (Udhampur) at 02:00 PM . It will have stops en route: Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Pathankot Cantt, and Jammu Tawi.
Udhampur to New Delhi: Train number 02440
In the return direction, the train will depart from Udhampur at 3:00 PM and reach New Delhi at 11:00 PM . The enroute stops will be at Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Ludhiana, and Ambala Cantt.
Special Vande Bharat train will run with 20 coaches
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal stated that frequent flight cancellations were causing significant inconvenience to passengers. This special train will help ensure passengers reach their destinations on time. He added that this special Vande Bharat Express will operate with 20 coaches.
Singhal appealed to the passengers to check the correct information related to the train on the official website of Indian Railways or NTES app before travelling.
