The Uttar Pradesh Government has come up with a unique initiative to make your daughter’s future bright. Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, the government will provide financial assistance at different stages at different stages of your daughter’s life. You can use these amounts as and when required or invest in a scheme or FD (Fixed Deposit) for your daughter’s future.
This scheme has been started by the Uttar Pradesh government and aims to help families with the expenses from the birth of daughters to their education. Let us first know how much amount you will get and when so that you can plan your daughter’s future better.
Total assistance of ₹25,000

A total assistance amount of ₹25,000 will be provided under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, which will be given in installments at different stages of the daughters’ lives:
First of all, an amount of ₹5,000 will be given on the birth of the daughter. This amount helps in the initial upbringing expenses of the daughter.
After this, as the daughter reaches different classes, she will continue to get financial help:
On admission to first class.
On admission to sixth class.
On admission to the ninth class.
Then, on reaching 12th class, she will be given an amount of ₹7,000. This amount can be used for her further studies or higher education. Thus, you will get a total assistance of ₹25,000 from the government. Earlier, an amount of ₹ 15,000 was given under this scheme, but now it has been increased to ₹ 25,000, which is a big incentive.
Who can apply

Some important eligibility criteria have been set to apply in this scheme, which must be fulfilled:
The applicant must be a native of Uttar Pradesh.
The annual family income should not exceed ₹ 3 lakh. This ensures that the benefits of the scheme reach the needy families.
A maximum of two daughters in a family can avail of the benefits of this scheme.
If a woman already has a daughter and later has two twin girls, then also the scheme can be availed (up to three daughters can get the benefit, provided twin girls are born later).
If a woman has twin girls, both will get the benefit of the scheme.
How to apply
Applying for Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana has now become quite simple. You can easily apply through the online portal:
First of all, you have to visit the official website of the scheme.
Click on the “Citizen Portal” option given on the website.
If you are applying for the first time, click on the option of “First Time User”.
Click on “I Agree” and then click on “Continue”.
Here you have to create your login credentials, which will include a user ID and password.
After creating a user ID, you have to log in.
After logging in, download the application form related to the scheme.
Fill in all the information asked in the form correctly. Along with this, collect all the required documents.
Finally, submit your filled form and all the attached documents online. You will get an application number or receipt, which is important to keep safe.
