How to Apply Online
First, visit the Passport Seva Portal and register yourself. Fill in the basic information during registration and create a user ID and password. After completing the registration, log in and fill out the online application form. The form requires your name, date of birth, address, parents’ information, and other necessary details. Fill in the information correctly and carefully, as correcting mistakes later can be difficult.
Document Upload and Appointment
After filling out the form, upload the necessary identity and address proof documents. Then, book an online appointment at a Passport Seva Kendra or Regional Passport Office. Choose a date and time that suits you. After booking the appointment, pay the passport fee online. This payment can be made through net banking, credit, or debit card.
What Happens at the Passport Office
On the day of your appointment, go to the passport office with all your original documents. There, your documents will be verified, your photo will be taken, and biometric information such as fingerprints will be recorded.
Police Verification and Passport Delivery
After the office process is complete, a police verification will be conducted at your address. The local police will verify your address and information. After the verification is complete, your passport will be printed and sent to your home via speed post. You can also track its status online.
