Aadhaar Address Update– Big news for Aadhaar Card holders. If you have recently shifted to a new house, or have rented a house somewhere else for a long time, then it is necessary to write the new address in the Aadhaar card as well. The good news is that UIDAI has extended the deadline for the free facility of updating the address in Aadhaar till June 2026. That is, now you can easily update your address online from home, without any charge.
How to update Aadhaar address online for free?
UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has now extended the deadline for the facility of updating Aadhaar for free till 14 June 2026. That is, you can now update your address and other demographic details online without any charge.
What information can be updated for free?
Address
Name, date of birth, gender, mobile number and email id (in some cases)
This facility is free only on the online portal.
If you go to Aadhaar Service Centre and make the changes, a fee of ₹50 will be charged.
What documents will be required?
You will need to upload a valid Proof of Address (PoA) document such as:
Electricity bill
Bank statement
Ration Card
Passport
(Total 44 PoA documents are validated by UIDAI)
Format: JPEG, PNG or PDF
File size: Maximum 2MB
How to update Aadhaar address online for free?
- First of all go to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in with the help of laptop.
- Click on “Login” and login with your Aadhaar number and OTP.
- Go to the “Document Update” section.
- Check your existing details and select “Update Address”.
- Enter the new address and upload valid documents.
- Click “Submit” and you will get a Service Request Number (SRN).
- With this SRN, you can track the status of the update.
