Every day millions of people travel by air in India. Often when someone has to travel long distances, many people prefer to travel by plane because it saves a lot of time. Many rules have also been made for air travel which all passengers have to follow.
Some of these rules are also for the convenience of the passengers. But do you know that if you have a confirmed ticket and still you are deboarded from the plane, then in such a situation you are entitled to compensation? So let’s know how much compensation is available if you are deboarded from the plane despite having a confirmed ticket.
Claim Up to ₹20,000 Compensation
Often airline companies sell more tickets because sometimes some passengers miss the flight. But this does not always happen. And then in such a situation, some passengers have to be deboarded from the flight. Passengers can also be deboarded sometimes due to technical or security reasons.

If this happens to you, that is, you are deboarded from the plane despite having a confirmed ticket, then the airline company will either have to give you a ticket for another flight, or pay compensation. If the airline company gives you a ticket for another flight within 1 hour, then no compensation is given.
But if it takes more than 1 hour, then within 24 hours you are given a flight ticket along with compensation of ₹ 10,000. If no other flight is given even after 24 hours, then you are given compensation up to ₹ 20,000. These rules protect the rights of passengers and provide them compensation for inconvenience.
If you do not get compensation, complain here
If you are deboarded from the plane despite having a confirmed ticket, and the airline company gives you a ticket for another flight within the stipulated time, then it does not need to give you any compensation. But after the time limit is over, you become entitled to compensation.
If the airline company does not compensate you, you can file a complaint against the airline company with the Director General of Civil Aviation i.e. DGCA. DGCA is an important body to protect the rights of passengers and will take appropriate action on your complaint. To register your complaint, you can visit the official website of DGCA or tell them your problem in writing.
