Minimum Salary of Government Workers Increased — New Pay Scale Applicable in This State

Salary Hike: The Haryana government has revised the pay structure for part-time and daily-wage employees working in various government departments, boards, corporations, and public sector undertakings in the state. The revised pay structure will be effective January 1, 2025. This means that although the Haryana government is claiming to implement this change today, payments will only be made starting in January.

The government may pay the previous amount as arrears. According to a notification issued by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, this decision was made following numerous requests from various departments and organizations seeking an increase in the remuneration of these workers. The notification divides districts into three categories, taking into account socio-economic and developmental differences. Within each category, different rates have been set for different levels of workers.

How much is paid in Category 1?

According to a notification from the Haryana government, Level 1 workers in districts under Category 1 will now receive a salary of Rs 19,900 per month, or Rs 765 per day or Rs 96 per hour. Similarly, at Level 2, the salary will be Rs 23,400 per month, Rs 900 per day, and Rs 113 per hour. The government has fixed the salary for Level 3 at Rs 24,100 per month, Rs 927 per day, and Rs 116 per hour.

Meanwhile Under Category 2, Level 1 workers in districts will receive a monthly salary of Rs 17,550, a daily wage of Rs 675, and an hourly rate of Rs 84. Level 2 workers will receive Rs 21,000 per month, Rs 808 per day, and Rs 101 per hour. Level 3 workers will receive a monthly salary of Rs 21,700, while the rates are set at Rs 835 per day and Rs 104 per hour.

The Haryana government said that the revised rates in Category-3 districts will be Rs 16,250 per month, Rs 625 per day and Rs 78 per hour for Level-1. Level-2 will be paid Rs 19,800 per month, Rs 762 per day and Rs 95 per hour. The government said that the salary for Level-3 has been fixed at Rs 20,450 per month, Rs 787 per day and Rs 98 per hour. The state government says that this salary revision has been done with the aim of ensuring fair remuneration to the employees working in different sectors in accordance with the increasing costs and regional disparities.
